Speak to your employer early

The process to pay your LGPS pension can be complex. You may need to give your employer more notice than what’s in your contract to make sure your pension is paid on time. Once you’ve agreed a retirement date with your employer, they need to give you our: 

  • retirement application form  
  • death grant expression of wish form  
  • retirement notes  
  • previous pension benefits declaration form.

Your employer will need to give us information about your: 

  • pay 
  • leaving date 
  • reason for leaving.
