Divorce or separation
If you get divorced or end a civil partnership, you must update us if there’s a change of name or address. You should also check your death grant nomination. To update your:
- new name, partnership status, or address please go to the ‘Update my personal details’ page
- death grant nomination please go to the ‘Nominate or update my beneficiaries’ page.
You may also be asked to give details of your LGPS pension to the court. This is because the court may take the value of your pension into account when deciding any divorce settlement. If you need information about your pension for a divorce or separation, please read and fill in our ‘Divorce information pack’.
You’ll get one free estimate a year which will be provided within a 3 month time limit. Any costs for supplying any additional information or complying with a court order will be recovered from you or/and your ex-spouse or ex-civil partner. All correspondence received by us will be acknowledged in writing. If you don’t get a response, you must contact us to make sure we received your request.
