How do I join?

Your employment contract is for 3 months or more

If you start a job which offers membership of the LGPS you’ll automatically be brought into the scheme if your contract is for 3 months or more. You can check your payslip to see if you’re paying into the scheme.

Your employment contract is for less than 3 months

If your contract is for less than 3 months, you can choose to join through your employer. Please fill in our ‘Option to join’ form.

You can also use this form with your employer if you’ve opted out of the LGPS before and would like to rejoin the scheme.
