Administering authority

This term is used to refer to an organisation that looks after the Pension Fund under the LGPS rules. It’s usually a local authority. The administering authority for the Northamptonshire Pension Fund is West Northamptonshire Council. For the Cambridgeshire Pension Fund it’s Cambridgeshire County Council.

Both your employer and the administrating authority may make decisions about your pension. Any communications should make it clear to you who made the decision. This is so you know who to contact if you’ve any queries.
