What’s the legal basis?

Processing is necessary to:

• meet our legal obligations as the administering authority of the Fund
• conduct a task in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority in our role as a public body
• administer and manage the Funds and liabilities under it. For example,

1. calculating, securing, and paying benefits
2. performing our obligations
3. exercising any rights, duties, and discretions the administering authority has in relation to the Funds

• meet our contractual obligations in relation to the Funds. For example:

1. under an agreement that you’ll pay additional voluntary contributions to the Fund, or
2. to take steps, at your request, before entering a contract.
